Meghna Economic Zone Ltd. (MEZL), a venture under Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) PLC and Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) on Monday signed a tripartite agreement to ensure uninterrupted power supply to its industrial area.
This agreement will provide a 100-megawatt (MW) electricity connection at the 230 KV level from PGCB's Meghnaghat Grid Substation, according to a press release issued by Meghna Group.
Signatories to the agreement were Dilruba Sirajee, secretary of BREB; Md. Jahangir Azad, company secretary of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh PLC; and Mostafa Kamal, chairman and managing director of MGI.
This agreement is expected to significantly enhance the stability of electricity supply within the Meghna Economic Zone's industrial area. This crucial development will play a vital role in fostering the growth of industries and businesses within the zone, says the press release.
